Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information The Able Diabetic collects from visitors and subscribers, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it. It is written in plain language because that is how I prefer to communicate. If you have any questions, please get in touch at sarah@theablediabetic.com.

Who is responsible for your data?

The Able Diabetic is operated by Sarah Harding. For the purposes of UK GDPR, Sarah Harding is the data controller. You can contact her at sarah@theablediabetic.com.


What information is collected and why?

Newsletter and blog subscribers

If you have signed up to receive updates, newsletters, or blog notifications from The Able Diabetic, I hold your name and email address. This information was provided by you voluntarily and is held on the basis of your consent. It is used solely to send you the communications you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting me at sarah@theablediabetic.com.


Inner Circle members

If you have been given access to the Inner Circle members area, I hold your name and email address in order to create and manage your account. This information is used solely to provide you with access to subscriber-only content. It is held on the basis of your consent and our correspondence. You can request removal of your account at any time by contacting me directly.


Website analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics collects information such as which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and how they arrived at the site. This data is aggregated and anonymous - it does not identify you personally. It is used only to help improve the website. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

This website is built on GoDaddy's Website Builder, which uses cookies to operate the site and support analytics. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Who is your data shared with?

GoDaddy - website hosting, subscriber management, and Members Area. GoDaddy's privacy policy is available at godaddy.com/legal/agreements/privacy-policy.

Google Analytics - anonymous website analytics. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Microsoft 365 - email services used to manage correspondence with visitors and subscribers. Microsoft's privacy policy is available at microsoft.com/privacy.


How long is your data kept?

Newsletter and blog subscriber data is kept for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, your data will be removed promptly. Inner Circle member data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you request account removal, your data will be deleted.


Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights.

Access - you can request a copy of the personal data held about you.

Correction - you can request that inaccurate data is corrected.

Deletion - you can request that your data is deleted.

Withdrawal of consent - you can withdraw your consent to receiving communications at any time.

Complaint - you can lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled.

Changes to this policy

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. It will not reduce your rights under this policy without clear notice.
